Terminology Management: standardize and manage your terminology efficiently
As the use of clear and consistent terminology is key for controlled authoring, it is necessary to build a dictionary that contains company-specific terminology that is standardized: omit the use of multiple terms that have the same meaning.
Tedopres provides the following services in this field:
- Analysis of terminology: Tedopres analyses all suitable company documentation in order to find corporate terminology.
- Review terminology list: the terminology list will be reviewed together with the customer to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Dictionary building: The review of the terminology list will result in a custom technical terms dictionary consisting mainly of technical nouns. This custom dictionary will also serve as a basis for any translations. Any non-approved terms will be included in a synonym dictionary to help the authors find the right words. In addition to the company dictionary, several dictionaries can be built depending on the customers’ needs, such as dictionaries specific to products, projects or clients.
The dictionaries are used by HyperSTE to provide interactive support to the writer, so that he or she knows which terms are allowed, and which are not.

In order to allow companies to update and maintain their dictionary, Tedopres offers HyperSTE DMT (Dictionary Maintenance Tool). HyperSTE DMT also allows the use of multiple dictionaries, which allows you to create industry, company, project or client specific dictionaries.
